Tattoos in particular,  have had a long tradition for ages. Symbolizing to each their own, often linked to different connotations perhaps a simplistic initial, or ornate with intricate patterns , always personal-have served as amulets, status symbols, declarations of love, signs of religious beliefs, adornments and even forms of punishment.

They can have deep meaning, a permanent reminder of something powerful in life or an experience that cannot and should not be forgotten. Many times, tattoos can give people a feeling of empowerment, a design that inspires and reminds them of something they have overcome. However everything has its downside too. They could also be a reminder of those rash pubescent years, when once you got drunk and the next thing you know is  some random quote tattoed on your neck or worse you go on a vacation, suddenly decide to get something

tattooed on your back in a local tattoo parlour and it turns out to be a dumb proclamation or saying in Vietnamese !

You ought to get rid of it, we all invest a lot of time deciding on a design and fixing and assigning significance from where to get it etched. Similar concern must be shown while getting it removed as well and learning the various aspects related to it.

While initially getting a tattoo the ink pigments are inserted into the skin. The immune system attempts to remove them but fails due to their large size and the tattoo becomes established.Similarly to get it removed Lasers (powerful beams of light) break down the ink pigments in the dermis, allowing the immune system to process them out of the body.

Other laser systems Pico and Q-switch technologies involve high levels of energy, which when absorbed by the ink, heats up and expands. This can blister and burn the surrounding skin. Eventually, the expansion breaks the ink pigments apart but not without the risk of long-term scarring or discolouration

We at Pragna dedicate a personalised line of action and treatment based on each client’s goals, skin tone and tattoo, which then determines on how the laser system is to effectively target the treatment area with skin safety being our utmost concern.  Some limitations can emerge on darker skin tones when it comes to removing coloured inks. Our cosmetologists examine your specific tattoo and recommend a treatment course that is right for you and your skin. All tattoos have their own quirks and length of treatment for each may vary.

Here are 3 things to note and take care of post laser removal of the tats.

~ Hydration is integral

The stronger your immune system is, the more efficiently it will flush away ink particles. Your body is a (tattooed) temple, so a healthy diet and lifestyle will optimize results.Help your lymph system flow faster by drinking lots of water and giving yourself a daily lymphatic massage.

~ Balanced diet will ease the process

Being well rested and eating a balanced diet will optimize results. Unsurprisingly, smoking and excessive alcohol consumption may slow the process.

~ Moisturizing shouldn’t be neglected

Protect the treatment area by applying moisturising sunscreen with high SPF and UVA 4* or above.
